03 BOS 2023 - WHO CAN PARTICIPATE, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST, HOW TO APPLY?

WHO CAN ENTER & HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

BOS Competitions 

To enter the BOS Competitions (Class 1,5 and Club Class) pilots must be current BHPA members and hold a Pilot Rating or above. See the Competition Entry Requirements section for further details.

• Class 1 and Class 5 Competitions:
  • £150 entry fee paid on or before 1 May 2023 for BOTH rounds.
    (i.e. £75 per round)
  • £100 per round for entries paid after 1 May or for a single round
    (i.e. a surcharge of £25 per round is applied for late or single round entry)
• Club Class Competition:
  • £100 entry fee paid on of before 1 May 2023 for BOTH rounds
    (i.e. £50 per round)
  • £70 per round for entries paid after 1 May or for a single round
    (i.e. surcharge of £20 per round is applied for late or single round entry)
• End of Season Fly-in - if activated for Championship scoring days
  Additional competition days will result in additional costs.  The final cost to competitors will depend on the remaining budget and the anticipated costs, however the entry fee for the additional days is expected to be no more than:
  • £40 - for pilots who have entered at least one BOS round during 2023
  • £70 - for pilots who have have not previously entered a BOS round  during 2023

BOS Challenge and End of Season Fly-in

Open to current BHPA members who hold a BHPA rating as follows:

• Pilot rating or above (with currency in last 2 years)
  Cost per event - £10 entry fee to each event to contribute towards site costs etc.
   
• Club Pilot +10 hours and low-air time/low-currency Pilot rated wanting support.  Early application is recommended, as places may have to be limited depending on the number of volunteer coaches available. Log Book required. 
  Cost per event - £35 entry fee to each event to contribute towards coach expenses and transport between Take Off and Landing.
   
• Club Pilot less than 10 hours are welcome to attend, but to fly they may need to be supported by someone who knows them well. Log Book required if hoping to fly.
  Cost - Nil  (If attending with own supporter, please contribute towards their expenses)
